This is a newly formed committee dedicated to identifying financial resources to insure the sustainability of the coalition. State funding has become more precarious over the past few years. Our federal Drug Free Communities Support Program Grant is substantial, but coalitions are only eligible to receive these funds for a maximum of ten (10) years. HVCASA is currently heading into year seven. In order to maintain the momentum we have created and continue to function at an effective level throughout the 22 communities we serve, it is mandatory that we look for long term funding and become a more self-sufficient entity altogether. Part of our mandate from the state of CT has always been to attract additional dollars to our sub-regions. The Development Committee is led by board members Elizabeth Jorgensen and Rudy Marconi, with individuals from the greater community contributing to this effort.
